OTOH, I do appreciate the overall story and the graphics. However, the mechanics shift a bit in the third phase of the game, and I enjoyed that much more. Also, some of the puzzles have weird solutions (as opposed to clever). This became almost tedious in the second phase of the game. The style of the game is back and forth and back and forth to get a new item which enables you to get another item, run over here, run over there, run back here again. Too conclude, this is easily one of the best indie game releases of this year, with plenty of game on offer too. It really made the forest feel very alive.
I'll also add that the visuals are gorgeous too, almost like a painting coming to life & i loved the little touches such as mushrooms popping back into the ground when you get too close. The game mechanics work incredibly well & thankfully the puzzles & solutions are not too ridiculous which you often find within this genre & only a couple of times were i truly stuck & that was down to me not exploring properly & missing an area i could investigate. With the Nintendo Switch release it was an instant purchase & l'm incredibly happy to say the game is an absolute delight! The story is the real highlight weaving a surprisingly deep & heartfelt story with Scandinavian folklore & it is completely engrossing. It's a genre we don't often see many new games in but when I was at EGX a couple of years ago, Röki caught my eye & I've been following it's progress ever since.

It’s a great title for the Switch and a great addition to your game collection. If you are younger and haven’t ever played those games, give this a try anyway. If you like those games, you will love this. For me there were strong Simon the Sorcerer and The Secret of Monkey Island vibes. It has a nice pace to it and the puzzles are not too difficult that some younger player might struggle, yet challenging enough to test your brain.
You will be exploring areas, meeting wonderful characters and solving puzzles in the form of finding and using items in order to find your younger brother, who was taken by a mysterious monster. It made me realise how much I love this genre of game. It is very reminiscent of the classic point and click adventure games but bought up to date for a modern audience.
